Day Seven, delivered 3 more beds...yaaaa!!

My dear friends,

We delivered three more beds to (2) families in Los Guido that live in the weco (hole)which is a section of Los Guido down in a ravine with a very dirty river runing through it. About 200people live in this area.
The first family recieved two beds. (Before the three children slept in one bed)

Scarlet and her family are one of the few families with a father living with them helping to support his family. This family was one of the first families (3years ago) that I helped disciple that came to the Lord as a family. They have 3 children which slept in one bed untill yesterday..Praise God

Both families were blessed as was the team as they met each other on common ground, which was through our Lord Jesus.

god Bless your day

Team from Texas Building Bunk Beds

Dear Friends,

Today, five young Christian's ( I say young, as they in their 20s and I'll be 63 Saturday), showed up to serve God by helping His children who have next to nothing and live in very poor conditions, as most sleep 2 to 4 to a bed.

In the next 7 days or so, we will be building and delivering 10 bunk Beds for 20 children, who will for the first time in their lives, have their own bed!

I have ministered to most of these Families over the past 3 years, they all know that the beds are a Gift from God and that we are just His servants.
None have ever asked for this, as most have accepted their lot in life and wait on the Lord not expecting blessing like this, but always trusting in the Lord for their needs.

Please pray for the missions team: Jon, Amanda, Ryan, Derek and Justin.........

Pray for their safety, health and perseverance as they meet new challenges daily while on missions with God, and of course safe travel as they ride with me on the highways. Pray also for their host family Aaron and Ashley as they serve the teams needs with food and shelter and of course prayer.

Today we put together a game plan for building the beds as a team!…should be fun!
This morning the team met some of the families and children at Los Guido that will be receiving the beds. It was a joy for all, and yet a sober experience as the team met the children and came to a better understanding of their needs.

The Team.....

NOTE: for the families and supporters of the team, This page will be updated daily with the missions progress.

God Bless you all with your needs

Feeding The Children, "Living Water"

Hola my friends,

I pray this finds you all blessed through the grace of Jesus Christ.

As most of you know part of my missions work in Costa Rica, is in a barrio called Los Guizaros. I help in feeding lunch to up to 80 children daily, (accept Sunday).
We started a Bible Study 6 weeks ago with the help of Cindi and Katherin. These are two young women from a Church where I spoke one time at the beginning of this year. They answered a prayer I had about starting a Bible Study on Saturday when we feed the children. We now have about 18 regular children and a mom attending each week. Cindi leads the study and Katherin helps the children that don't quite understand it all yet.
While the bible study is in progress, the younger children are read the bible from various stories and then asked questions, which they are starting to be eager to answer. We also have times when the children color with crayons.
This is being led by Amy, an American Missionary, and Stephanie an Costa Rica missionary along with Cindi and Katherin. Amy's husband Leith, is usually outside playing with the children that just can't set still.

Other missionaries (most are learning Spanish at the school I attended here), help each week in feeding the children food, love and the grace of Jesus Christ through there presence and interaction with the children and their families.

God works through people on missions with God, “When we allow God to manifest Himself through us as willing servants in spreading the word of God throughout the lands”!

God Bless you, and I pray a servants heart shines through your life to others:>)

July update 06

My Friends,

First, I'd like to welcome you to my new semi-kind of web page.

As most of you know their was a missions construction team coming from a church in Florida this month to help build bunk beds for 20 children.
They had to cancel for personal reasons. You would think, that's that?? NO!

While I was preparing for that mission, other missionaries here in Costa Rica (Aaron) asked me if a friend of theirs, and his friend, who was coming in July could do some work with my missions while they was here. I said of course! His name is "Jon" and he has a burning desire to serve God here. I had planned to use them with the other team while building the beds!

Blessing 1 of many:

Well, as it turns out, (when the church team cancelled), jon now has (4) friends signed up to come with him to Costa Rica to visit Aaron and his family. So I now have five, (1) young lady and (4) guys coming to help build the beds. They have also raised enough funds to buy the material to build them. Praise God!
But wait...There's more......

Blessing 2 of many;

My little car isn't big enough for 6 adults and material!!? So I need to rent a van/SUV type car, but I don't have enough money, so I figure it well work out:>)..Somehow!
Monday, I call my mission organization CTEN for other reasons, and I find out that a couple I have never met donated enough funds to my mission that will help cover the cost of the rental and diesel fuel for the time needed to build and deliver the beds. I can say, I've been blessed by the grace of God, but in fact it's the children that will receive the blessing from this donation! Thank you!

I refer you all to Ephesians 2:10.....For God has prepared the way....In advance!!

Please remember that there are hundreds of children that need a bed or school clothes or shoes or food that I can help with through my missions here in Costa Rica, if I have the funds. Most of these children and their parent's know God and have accepted Jesus Christ in to their life’s with in the past three years that
I have worked here. But there are so many that haven’t, and they live right next door to them. And as they see the blessing of God helping there friends and neighbors, they start asking questions, which have led many in the past to their salvation.

If you consider supporting this mission, please send your support to;
"Commission To Every Nation",== "CTEN, P.O. Box 291307, Kerrville, TX 78029 ... Make your check to CTEN with a side note with my name on it, (not on the check). Thank you.
Please send in all support by the 24th for that months disbursement "

Blessing

Hola,
I pray this finds you and your family rich in God's blessings.

I'd like to share this small blessing with you, which happened the other day. As you know I have three different mission areas that I work at. One is in Coranado, (men's re-hab center) which is about 40 minutes from my house, the other way from my other missions areas.

I supply two large sacks of rice (80 pounds) every month to this one, which I buy from a wholesale rice vendor. He was weeks late in getting me the rice, and so every day I would call and he would give me the run around as to when the rice would get here, and so I was on call every day. Well I had made other plan's this past Tuesday, but late in the day he called and gave me directions where I could pick the rice up, about a 50 minute away. I picked the rice up and decided to deliver it the next day as I had another stops in the opposite direction.

As I was driving the Holy Spirit, (that little voice in your head) said: You have the rice, go deliver it know!! Reluctantly I went. I picked up another missionary, (Jason, he's a Spanish language student and a pastor and enjoys ministering with the men there), I had not been there since my trip home, (there is no phone to call them), So when I arrived it was a great reunion.

They had built the chicken coupe I had told you about before I went back to the States, and have 20 egg laying chickens and one rooster, this supplies them with eggs every day, Praise God...

That's a blessing by it self, but God had another reason for my coming that day!!

OK, so Here's the Blessing
One of the new young men that has come for help, (to kick a drug habit) had punctured his right foot with a rusty nail the day before, and because they don't have any medical knowledge, he was just soaking it, kinda! When I arrived, he could not walk on it and it was swollen and very red. I told the team leader for that day that he needed an anti bacteria shot and other treatment ASAP or he could lose his foot or life very soon. (they have no on site transportation), and the bus is 1/2 mile away. So I drove him and one of the other guys, ( they can't leave the ranch a lone) to the hospital about ten miles away and he received treatment that night, which probably saved a lot of sickness in his immediate life and maybe his life! We all prayed together, as I realized again that God had answered a need of one of His children without anybody asking,(me showing up) but simply because of his love and faith in Jesus Christ as one of God's children.

God is no different than any of you parents. You see your children's needs and you act accordingly....In Love!!

Please remember to pray for the men at Ministry C.A.F.E. who have decided to rejoin life and are learning how to give back, in love through Jesus Christ!!

A Side Note: there's 20 men staying there now with only 18 real beds and no room for more (they are sleeping on the floor)...We could build as additional room for less that $3500.00 that would hold up to 25 men.....Just a thought?

God Bless You with His wisdom
